Re-think the timeline

I have a fellow massage therapist friend who been enlisted and served her time in the military.  I told her about my timeline and how I would like to be back by august 15 for Vegas.

“If I were you I’d wait until after you get back from Vegas.  They have a way of screwing people.  Even if you tell them not to deploy you, they can still do it.”

Then she proceeded in telling me a horror story of how a girl committed suicide while she was in boot camp.  She did it with her belt.

“It screwed me up pretty bad when that happened.”

These are not good things.  Plus I’ve been watching Full Metal Jacket for the first time.  I don’t have time to watch the whole movie all at once, so I’ve been intermittently watching it before I leave for work for the past 3 or 4 days.

The Navy is looking pretty glum and depressing.  Screw it, I’m still doing it.

I am going to wait until after Vegas.  The plane ticket and hotel is paid in advance. I can’t just throw away $500.
